Lower Lewis Falls
Lower Lewis Falls
It’s hard to imagine that an image of such beauty was taken during a time of such sorrow. On this visit to Lower Lewis Falls I was in the middle of a multi-month photography trip around western America after the abrupt passing of my dog Koda. I was depressed and frustrated over her death and immersed myself in photography to forget. At just the moment of photographing this falls I accidentally formatted a week’s worth of incredible photos around Washington and probably hit my lowest feeling point of the trip. I wrote on Instagram “Struggling to deal with a week's worth of images lost and the desire to just call it quits. Hopefully scenes like this one yesterday can get me out of this funk. 2017 has not been kind... life is chaos I guess.” It took a long time to not feel incredibly sad every time of I thought of Koda but looking back at this image and where I was at that point tells me how much better it is.
Metal Float Prints have vibrant colors and a luminescence that makes them shine in any room. By infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets, the finished prints are light, waterproof, and easy to care for; detail and resolution are superb and hanging only requires a simple nail.
Prints are on Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag. This is an archival fine-art Pigment Giclée on 100% cotton paper produced without optical brightening agents; this means your print may last up to 200 years under proper conditions vs 30-40 years for standard chromogenic papers (the paper used by most consumer photo labs). All prints come with a 2-inch white border so the image can be framed with or without matting and still look good.
